The Special Engraved Collection
Early Singing Bowls at the Height of Mastery
Special Engraved
Among the finest ever made
This is one of the bowl types I especially searched for, which I call the Special Engraved bowls for the intricate engravings done with great mastery. They all seem to have been made by the same workshop over at least 3 generations.
They are among the most beautifully crafted and clearest sounding singing bowls ever created. All of the examples here sound amazingly clear with long ringing, bell like tones. The harmonic overtones blend beautifully. Due to the thick shape, they have more clarity with less warble than most singing bowls.
They are equally beautifully engraved with some of the more intricate engravings on any antique. Under close inspection under magnification, multiple engraving patterns can be seen, made by several different tools. Rather than just decorative, I believe the engravings also helped finish the bowl as they align with the area where the metal was folded. Perhaps the makers believed it helped keep the seam from opening.
More details are described for each bowl on their individual pages:
Listen to each of these ancient masterpieces. Click to see more photos and read individual descriptions. Each singing bowl was individually collected and later combined with related bowls.
Combining sound with wellness is amazing! My breathing, voice, movement and meditation training provides real breakthroughs and feels great. We use the bowls as a subtle part of the process.
