I collected only the best extra thick manipuri for the museum. These are among the best sounding of all the singing bowls. The extra thickness gives them wonderful clarity and long ringing tones. They have a golden appearance and look amazing when polished. Out of hundreds of manipuri I collected over 25 years, these are the few best pieces I set aside for sound healers. Manipuri bowls were made in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses and traditional decorative patterns. Most are thin and produce a short, gong-like tone.
