Circle & Dot
The Early Folded Masterpieces
This type of singing bowl will be recognizable to long time antique collectors. One of the most sought after types, they are truly ancient with an otherworldly sound and feel. They sound less metallic than most singing bowls with a complex, cosmic, hollow tone.
Characterized by their more square shape and distinctive engraving pattern, this is one of the types that helped link the singing bowls with their ancient Persian siblings.
The circle and dot bowls dominated the early singing bowl production. They were likely made by the same workshop for two centuries or longer.
Some of the most radical unfolding of metal can be seen with this type. The seam split does not hurt the sound but does add a lot of visual character to the bowls.
