LISTEN

A one of a kind set of 14 low sided antique singing bowls of exceptionally high quality. This set is beautifully tuned over 3 octaves, ranging from a very deep and meditative low to gorgeous sparkling highs. Listen to how the many harmonic overtones interact beautifully, creating an amazing cosmic effect that really fills the room.

Extremely compact and easy to transport, no other set of singing bowls could provide this combination of compact size, wide range of tones, amazing harmony and real antique presence.

The sizes range from a very small handheld 4.25 inch diameter up to a nice larger 9.5 inch diameter. The sizes range sequentially from large to small, forming a visually beautiful spiral. This gives you the ultimate range of many tones yet the bowls all stack together so they are easy to transport (see photo).

Excellent for sound healing, music or personal enjoyment, the low sided antique singing bowls in my collection are all extremely thick, long ringing and carefully selected for the best tone. This set is extra special for the very large and deep tones, which are exceptionally rare. It also includes some of the finest very small low sided antiques I ever collected. All in all, this is the largest set of low sided antiques I have created with 14 astonishingly beautiful fine antiques, all blending in vibrational harmony.

I painstakingly combined this set over a period of years, adding the most similar bowls that fit perfectly musically but also visually, so the overall appearance and proportions of the bowls are very similar. This makes for the most unified set possible, matching in every way and creating an ancient sound that must be experienced to believe.

The tuning covers more than 3 octaves in a varying pentatonic sequence, including the following notes from low to high:

G#, A#, D, E, F#, G#, A#, C, D, E, F#, G#, A#, D

Tune In to the 1,000-Year-Old Metalworking Tradition

The first singing bowls were made around the 11th century, during one of the high periods of Buddhism in Nepal. The best examples coincide with high periods of culture, which is part of how I determine their age. The singing bowls are related to bowls from ancient Persia and Khorosan. Later forms are also related to similar bowls from Southeast Asia. Singing bowls spread through Asia over the last few hundred years. Antique singing bowls were crafted with an ancient process called annealing, where a bronze disc is repeatedly heated, cooled and hammered until the desired form is acheived. The ability for bronze to be reworked repeatedly allowed the artisans to craft these truly stunning forms. The durability of this fine bronze material has allowed them to endure for so long. Kept in good condition, they will last for another thousand years.
